Chain link fences in Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend

The lowest-cost way to fence a yard, a lot or acreage. Galvanized or black vinyl-coated, 4 to 12 feet.

Corpus Christi Fence Company is a free referral service. Tell us about the job and we pass it to independent local fence contractors who quote you directly.

Chain link is the most affordable fence per foot and goes up quickly. It is common for side yards, dog runs, back lots, utility areas and commercial perimeters, and lets wind straight through, which counts for something on the Coastal Bend.

Options

  • Galvanized: the standard silver finish. Heavier zinc coatings and thicker wire last longer near salt water.
  • Vinyl-coated (usually black or green): a polymer coat over galvanized wire. Looks better and adds a second layer against corrosion.
  • Privacy slats: slats woven into the mesh add some screening. They also catch wind, so posts need to suit.
  • Heights: 4 ft for yards, 6 ft for dogs and back lots, 8 to 12 ft for commercial and security.

Ask about

Wire gauge, post diameter and wall thickness, terminal and gate post size, a top rail or tension wire, and the coating weight. Cheap fittings are often the first parts to rust.

Typical installed cost: $10 to $40 per linear foot (Fixr, Angi, HomeGuide, Bob Vila). See the cost guide.

  • Fence type and height: wood, vinyl, chain link, iron or aluminum, ranch; 4, 6 or 8 ft
  • Length: rough linear feet, or the lot size. A sketch of the fence line helps
  • Gates: how many, walk or drive, manual or automatic
  • Old fence: anything to tear out and haul away
  • The site: slope, trees, sprinklers, and which side takes the wind off the bay
  • Rules and timing: HOA requirements, a pool, and your time window. Photos help; mention them and the contractor will ask.
